May is a crazy month for us. We have Jose's birthday, my birthday, Jose's mom's birthday, my dad's birthday, my cousin's birthday, Mother's Day, plus countless school activities as school winds down. Then, June 1, is our anniversary. My head spins just thinking about it. Once Father's Day passes, we get a much needed break until school starts.
School let out late this year, in my opinion. Considering it started in August and we didn't use any bad weather days, a June release date seemed very late to me. And it's crazy how adding just a few extra days to the school year can make summer break already feel like it's flying by.
The first weekend after school was released, the girls headed to their grandma's for a week where they were completely spoiled. I am certain they each put on a couple of pounds while they were there. Jose and I headed to the hill country. This was our 3rd planned vacation. We kept changing our minds about where we wanted to go. We finally settled on the hill country when we both realized we were too tired for much else. Besides a couple of minor bumps in the road (and an NBA team encounter) we had the best time. We needed the quiet. We shopped and had long, leisurely dinners, got a massage and slept late. The wildest thing we did was sit in a sports bar and watch one of the NBA final games. But, I wouldn't have had it any other way.
