year in review {2011}

I'm summing up our year in one nice pretty package, tied in a bow.  As much as an entire year can be summarized in 12 photos anyway..

In January, our Sofia turned 5.  As happy as she was, I dreaded it just a little, knowing it meant soon she would be off to school.

February brought the only real snow we saw that winter,  The girls loved playing in it.  This was about as much as I ventured out in it.

In March, I finally showed off what was essentially our redone master bedroom.  I am still in love with the striped wall.

April was so very awesome because we went on a cruise to celebrate 15 years together.  We had the time of our lives (with the exception of an inconvenient sunburn).  We went to Belize, Honduras and Mexico.  I even came home with a beautiful new wedding ring.

May is super busy for us.  Jose and I both celebrate our birthdays, along with my favorite cousin, my dad, Jose's mom, Mother's Day and this year, Sofia's PreK graduation.  She was a little sick that night, but she pushed through and we were so proud!

In June, we officially celebrated 15 years of marriage.  I am a  lucky girl and am married to my very best friend.  There's no one on earth I'd rather spend time with.  He gets me.

July was so full for us this year!  It was such a fun month and it was hard to pick a photo to represent this month.  We had a great July 4th.  Parades, cook outs, swimming, fireworks.  A very traditional and All-American holiday.  I also got a play date with my BFF and spent the day at the spa, shopping, indulging in great food and lots of laughs.  I bought myself an expensive pair or silver shoes that I later returned.  Not out of guilt.  Blisters!  Near the end of July, Sofia went on a very special Mommy/Daughter date.  We went to a movie, shopped for backpacks, then checked into a hotel for the night.  We had dinner, played beauty shop and giggled in bed.  The next morning we went for pancakes then headed out for pedicures.  Sofia's first.  She picked sparkly pink polish and they added flowers.  She loved it and told me we needed to do that again.  Oh, we will!  It was so special and I hope to make it a yearly before school starts tradition with my girls.

In August, our girl started kindergarten.  Her first day was rough for me, but we quickly settled into a routine.  I miss her, but the day goes so fast, it's time to pick her up before I know it.

In October, our favorite time of year is in full swing.  We visited the farmer's market, a pumpkin patch, out town's annual "Boo Bash" and of course, trick or treated.

In November, right after Thanksgiving (which we hosted again this year) our Buggy girl, Olivia, turned 3!  She had a Hello Kitty theamed party because she is a bit obsessed with HK these days.  She begs to wear this outfit every day!

December ended our year on a festive and fun note.  We tried to make the most out of our time off together.  We went to Holiday in the Park, to visit Santa and mail our letters to him.  We looked at lights, had many movie nights, wrapped gifts, baked cookies and hosted Christmas in our home again this year.  It was busy, but fun.

And now it's time to start all over.

Sofia will be 6 in a couple of weeks.Funny how much faster the years go the older we get.

So, from our family to your...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
